Dolly!
Quite a suprise when entering the old town of Leiden through the "Morspoort" (gate of the old wall around the city) and then looking left to see another historical subject: a 2CV in the white and red "Dolly" outfit. These Dolly's were sold by Citroën in the late eighties in different color schemes, but they were never sold officially by Citroën in the Netherlands, so the owner must have imported it from abroad or restyled his white 2CV in Dolly fashion..... |

Henk
Joore is the proud new owner of this double-engined 2CV "Sahara" 4x4. The
car is pushed inside the garden. Henk bought it in Germany, but it needs
a restoration badly! The photo was taken by Henk's son Maarten.
This Sahara has the number 0243, and after restoration it will be glorious again in the original grey color that it had before! |

A
nice picture from the green heart of Holland, on a place where deep down
below a railway tunnel is being built at the moment. What has this to do
with parked Citroëns should you say?
We´ll see that on the next 2 pictures where a red 2CV is parked underneath the steel roof of an old hay/shed.... |

| You'll see seldom 2CV's short after each other, like this one and the black-yellow Charleston above. This one was parked at the parking of the locala Mitsubishi dealer. | |

This 2CV is parked there almost every day and seems to be in use every day, maybe for shopping or bringing the kids to school.... |

Another white 2CV: in the heart of Holland -green meadows, lakes, old farms, windmills and pollard-willows- a 2CV is parked at the end of a no through road. |

A blue 2CV in reasonable condition parked in front of the house. At the side of the house another much better looking red 2CV was getting maintenance by the owner on this Saturday afternoon. Still it must be a very 2CV loving owner, owning two of the about 10.000 2CV's that still exist in The Netherlands. |

At the end of the road coming from Leiderdorp on the North side of the Oude Rijn, just before you can turn right to cross the Oude Rijn with a bridge to go to Hazerswoude Rijndijk, there is this old house and just behind the red nailbox you can the a part of two red Citroëns: the 2CV back is clear but the front of the other cars is a little more difficult. The next photo will explain...... |

front belongs to an old CX, but not that old, anyway it's from the 2nd
generation with the plastic bumpers, so no older than 1985. The 2CV will
be about the same age, because 2CV's were no longer sold by Citroën
from the summer of 1987 when production in Paris stopped. But a lot of
2CV's from later production (Mangualde - Portugal) were imported by individuals.
